TRANSIT OPTIONS
Bus Connections
There are two buses that run every 15 minutes between the Santa Fe Depot and the San Diego Zoo. The buses are operated by the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (SDMTS). Visit the SDMTS website for more information on schedules and fares.
- Mid-City Rapid 215: After stepping off the train, walk through the station building and board at the stop right outside the station along Kettner Blvd. Ride for five stops (15 minutes) to Park Blvd. and Zoo Place. From there, the zoo is about a four-minute walk. For the return trip, the bus stop is located adjacent to the parking lot on Park Blvd.
- Route 7: After stepping off the train, walk along W B Street and turn right on Front Street (around an 8-minute walk). The bus stop is right on the corner. Ride for 10 stops (15 minutes) to Park Blvd. and Zoo Place. From there, the zoo is about a four-minute walk. For the return trip, the bus stop is located adjacent to the parking lot on Park Blvd.
By Car
Travel to the zoo by car. The trip takes less than 10 minutes from the downtown area.
- Rideshare Services: Lyft, Uber and Taxi services are available on demand
- Car rental: There are two car rental companies (Avis and Budget) located less than a half-mile from the Santa Fe Depot on Kettner Blvd. Parking at the San Diego Zoo is free.
