The Del Mar Racetrack will welcome back fans this summer, starting with opening day on July 16, 2021. The coastal outdoor venue is following local health guidelines for the safety of guests and employees, such as limiting capacity to ensure adequate space for physical distancing. Races will be held every Thursday-Sunday through Labor Day weekend.
The Pacific Surfliner continues to serve the Solana Beach Station, which is the connection point for shuttles that stop at the race track. The shuttle operates on race days and is free for riders who show a valid train ticket.
Pacific Surfliner trains are a great way to travel along the coast. We continue to make improvements to keep passengers safe during their trips, such as installing of hand sanitizer onboard the trains and enforcing the statewide mask requirement. While onboard, passengers can stay connected with free Wi-Fi and visit the market-style Café car for a selection of fresh food, snacks and beverages. Riders ages 21 and over can enjoy a craft beer, Mimosa, Bloody Mary or specialty cocktail. Business Class offers additional benefits, such as complimentary snacks and drinks.
