San Diego/Torrance/San Pedro/Long Beach/Los Angeles to Bakersfield (Route 1)

Twenty-four one-way trips per day connect Southern California with Bakersfield. San Joaquins trains provide daily service from Bakersfield to Fresno, Stockton, the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento and other destinations. Eighteen daily one-way bus trips directly connect with Pacific Surfliner trains at Los Angeles.

Santa Barbara/Carpinteria/Ventura/Oxnard/Bakersfield (Route 10)

Six one-way trips per day connect Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties with Bakersfield. San Joaquins trains provide daily service from Bakersfield to Fresno, Stockton, the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento and other destinations.

Santa Maria/Grover Beach/San Luis Obispo/Paso Robles/Hanford (Route 18)

Four one-way trips per day connect San Luis Obispo County with Hanford. San Joaquins trains provide daily service from Hanford to Fresno, Stockton, the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento and other destinations.

Santa Barbara/Grover Beach/San Luis Obispo/Paso Robles/Salinas/San Jose (Route 21)

Two one-way trips per day connect Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties with San Jose. Capitol Corridor trains provide daily service from San Jose to Santa Clara, the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, Auburn and other destinations.

At this time, Thruway bus services are sold only as part of a Pacific Surfliner rail trip.

Yes, passengers may bring bikes onboard as long as there is space available.

Reservations are required on Thruway buses, so we can ensure everyone has a seat. If you need to board an earlier or later bus, modify your reservation in advance of your trip. This can be done on Amtrak.com (modify trip button), the Amtrak app, at 800-USA-RAIL, or staffed Amtrak stations.

Yes, Amtrak dedicated Thruway bus services are accessible and lift-equipped. Thruway services provided by partners are also accessible but may require up to 48 hours advance notice. Please specify that you are traveling with a disability when making a reservation.

There is a guaranteed connection between the Thruway buses and Pacific Surfliner trains. If either the bus or train is late, the connecting service will wait. If the delay is extensive, passengers will be accommodated on the next available departure.
