Proud agricultural history, pristine beaches

Home of Vandenberg Air Force Base, Lompoc is 155 miles northwest of Los Angeles. A significant agricultural area producing flowers, lettuce, and artichokes, the Lompoc Valley also offers a variety of attractions and outdoor activities. The train station is located steps from Surf Beach, home of the endangered Snowy Plover and famous for Great White shark sightings. The annual Flower Festival (late June) is a favorite family event. The fully restored La Purisima Mission, built in 1787, offers free guided tours.
